BBC’S QUEST FOR DRAGON SLAYERS
June 2005

The second series of Dragons’ Den, a compelling prime-time BBC2 television series which will offer budding entrepreneurs from across the country the chance to make their business dreams come true, is looking for inventors.

The Dragons are five wealthy and successful businesspeople who are prepared to put their own money into any idea they think can make them richer than they already are.

Each week a selection of new entrepreneurs will get the chance to pitch their ideas to the Dragons. Each pitch has a chance of getting more than a quarter of a million pounds of the Dragons’ cash. But it won’t be easy. The Dragons won’t waste time with ideas that aren’t up to scratch and they won’t be slow to point out the flaws in any new business idea.

BBC Economics Editor Evan Davis will present the show from a secret location in London, an intimidating arena which will test the nerves of the most confident entrepreneur. Expect real human drama, high emotional impact and life changing amounts of cash as real business deals are done ‘on camera’.

The rules are simple. The entrepreneurs can ask for any amount of investment, but they must get at least the amount they ask for or they will walk away with nothing. The Dragons are prepared to listen to a pitch for any kind of business but they want to see people who can convince them that their business will make money.

The BBC are currently searching for Britain’s best new entrepreneurs and will be auditioning across Britain throughout July and August. We want to hear from anyone who thinks they’ve got what it takes to tame the Dragon’s.

If you would like an application to appear on the forthcoming series please send an e-mail to dragonsden@bbc.co.uk or telephone 09011 110825. (Calls cost 25p).
